Here's the story for those wondering: I went to the subway stop that she gets off at and waited for her to come home from work. I had help from her roommate so I knew exactly which car she was in, and was able to stand on the platform right where she'd be getting off. However, while I was waiting at the station, the train she was on rolled on by, and didn't even stop (it skipped the next couple of stops actually)! I panicked a little bit, but I was able to run up to the next station, while they transferred to a downtown train a few stops away. Finally her train pulled up, and there I was. She was very surprised and confused to see me, and before she really knew what was happening I was down on one knee. Luckily for me she said yes.
